01/18/07 New Lower Unit and Re-build Motor, Maiden Voyage II:
1981 Wilson Boat before restoration:
Well here is my new boat, Just purchased it and was very stoked to find a island boat that suited all my purposes. This is a 1981 Wilson Boat that I found on http://www.Craiglist.org. I have always talked about owning a boat like this, but just couldn't find one that I could afford. Well I got this one for $10.5k after taxes and lics is $11.5k. That is what financing is all about. Got a loan with http://www.Key.com at a really good rate. Also when I purchased it I though there was a good motor on it. turns out after replace all the ignitions and rebuilding the carbs, the engine blow a couple of piston rings. So that means I have to rebuild the motor now. Should have it operational in about 2 weeks.

Turns out the lower unit is also slipping. Took the unit apart and found out it
was all rusted in sided. Some of the bearing were burned up. So had to replace
the drive shaft and pinion bearings. Also turn out too that the clutch dog is
also grinded down.

Dropped another $700 on new bearings and drive shaft. Should have a new motor
now. ;)
